What is Reiki?
The word rei derives from the Japanese words meaning “universal,” and ki, which refers to the life energy that flows through all living things. A Reiki Practitioner works with this energy incorporating key hand positions and symbols to scan the body for areas that may need extra power, grounding, and/or emotional healing. A Reiki Master has the ability to work at higher frequency levels, join the chakras for optimum balance and teach Reiki at all levels. Reiki can be sent to your past, present or future and the work can be performed both in person or remotely, allowing for ultimate flexibility.
This Japanese healing technique was founded by Mikao Usui and just celebrated its 100th year anniversary. Now, Reiki is used all over the world, including in hospitals and hospices to complement other forms of health treatments. According to several studies, Reiki helps promote peace, relaxation, security and wellness.
My Approach
You may be asking yourself why I call myself The Energy Maven. I came across the meaning for the word Maven, "one who understands". It's the best way that I can describe the knowing that comes from being a Reiki Master Practitioner. Reiki has enabled me with the ability to help people move energy. I often see the entanglements of the physical body and the emotional self and can work with you to let them go.
I offer 45, 60 and 90 minute Reiki sessions along with healing attunements: both in person and long distance, in English and in Spanish, and solely fully clothed and permission-based. Great care is taken in understanding your session preferences ahead of time via an intake form to ensure your comfort. Singing bowl and Dorje bell sounds along with the use of crystals and/or healing stones may accompany your session. Specialty sessions for groups, business owners and pets are also available. For those of you in search of Reiki training, classes at Levels 1,2,3 are now available!
I encourage you to do your research on Reiki and should the modality resonate with you, I would love to hear from you.
